Games to play long distance
Living in different cities, or on different continents? 2play.lol was built for exactly that: two people, two devices, two networks. Each of you plays on your own screen and the server keeps both in step, wherever you are.
The matches are live (you play at the same time, not by mail), so they fit naturally into a call or an evening you set aside together.
Games with voice chat built in
Three games have voice chat inside the game, so you can hear each other without juggling a separate call. It is optional and asks for your microphone only when you turn it on.
Games to play during a video call
Already on a call? Keep it running and play these on the side. They are turn-based, so there is time to talk between moves.
An evening together, from afar
A simple plan for a long-distance date night or catch-up: warm up with a round of Perfect Timing, move on to a tactical game like Fleet Hunt or Ultimate Tic-Tac-Toe, and finish with Doodle Duel for the laughs. Every match ends with a rematch button, and the rematch swaps who goes first.
Questions
Do we need to be on the same Wi-Fi?
No. Each of you can be on any network, home Wi-Fi, mobile data, another country. If a connection drops, you have a minute to come back and the match carries on.
Can we play at different times?
No, matches are live: you both need to be online at the same time. That is what makes them feel like playing together.
Can we talk while we play?
Doodle Duel, Guess the Order and Guess My Number have voice chat built in. For the other games, keep your usual call running alongside.
