Liar’s Dice

The bluffing dice game. Bid bigger, or call them a liar.

You each roll five dice that only you can see. Take turns bidding on how many dice show a face across both hands, “three 4s”, then “four 2s”, each bid higher than the last. Think they have gone too far? Call Liar. The dice come up: if the bid was good the caller loses a die, otherwise the bidder does. Lose all five and you lose.

How to play Liar’s Dice

  1. You each roll five dice that only you can see.
  2. Take turns bidding on how many dice show one face across both hands, like “three 4s”.
  3. Each bid must be higher: more dice, or the same number of a higher face.
  4. Instead of bidding, you can call Liar on the bid on the table. Both hands are revealed and counted, ones are not wild.
  5. If there are at least as many as bid, the caller loses a die; otherwise the bidder does. The loser of a die opens the next round.
  6. Lose all five dice and you lose the match.

Controls

  • Pick a number and a face, then Bid
  • Tap Liar to challenge the bid on the table

Tips to win

  • On average a sixth of your rival’s dice show any given face, use that to judge a bid.
  • Bid on faces you hold: your rival has to guess, you already know half the table.
  • A bluff on a face you do not have can push your rival into a bid they cannot back up.

How a match works

  1. Open the game on your device and press play.
  2. Get matched with someone straight away, or send a friend your private room link and wait for them to join.
  3. You take turns; each move appears on the other screen as soon as the server accepts it. A match takes about 6 minutes.
  4. Lost your connection? Come back within a minute and the match carries on where it stopped.

It is free, with no download and no account needed: press play and you join as a guest. Create an account later if you want to keep your match history and earn a rating on the leaderboard.
