One of you gets a word and draws it on the board with a finger; the other watches it appear live and types what they think it is. Guess fast for three points, slower for one, and the artist scores too, so a clear drawing pays. Letters are given away as the minute runs down. Six rounds, three each, most points wins. Talk to each other while you play.
No account needed: press play and you join as a guest. Create an account later to keep your history and earn a rating.
How to play Doodle Duel
One of you is the artist and gets a secret word: a simple, drawable thing. You have one minute.
Draw it with your finger or mouse; your rival watches the drawing appear live on their screen.
The guesser types guesses, as many as they like. A guess one letter off is flagged as close.
A right guess within 20 seconds is worth 3 points, within 40 seconds 2, after that 1; the artist scores 1 as well.
As the clock runs down, letters of the word are given away.
Six rounds, three drawings each; the most points wins.

Tips to win
Draw the overall shape first and details later, the fastest guesses score most.
Use colour: a red circle guesses faster as an apple than a black one.
Guess freely: wrong guesses cost nothing, and a “close” flag tells you to check your spelling.
With voice chat on, the guesser can think out loud and the artist can react, just do not say the word.
How a match works
Open the game on your device and press play.
Get matched with someone straight away, or send a friend your private room link and wait for them to join.
Both of you play at the same time; the server keeps the two screens in step. A match takes about 8 minutes.
Lost your connection? Come back within a minute and the match carries on where it stopped.

Can I play Doodle Duel online with a friend?
Yes. Open Doodle Duel, choose to play a friend and send them the private room link, they open it on their own phone or computer and the match starts when you are both ready. You can also invite a player by username, or take a quick match against whoever is waiting.
Is Doodle Duel free, and do I need an account?
It is free, with no download and no account needed: press play and you join as a guest. Create an account later if you want to keep your match history and earn a rating on the leaderboard.
Can we talk while we play?
Yes. Doodle Duel has built-in voice chat, so you can laugh at each other’s drawings while you play.
