Fruit Slash

The fruit slicing reflex game. Slice the fruit first, never touch the hard stuff.

Fruit and hard things pop up one at a time, both of you see the same one. Swing your sword: the first to reach a fruit slices it for +1, but striking a rock, spiky ball or iron ball costs −1. Swinging at nothing makes your sword come back slowly. Highest score after one minute wins.

How to play Fruit Slash

Fruit and hard things (rocks, spiky balls, iron balls) pop up one at a time. You both see the same one.
Swing your sword by tapping the arena, the SLICE button or Space.
The first player to swing at a fruit slices it for +1.
Striking a hard thing costs −1, and swinging at empty air or a hard thing makes your sword slow to come back.
After one minute, the higher score wins.

Tips to win

Look before you swing: about a third of the objects are hard things.
A wasted swing slows your sword for over a second, long enough for your rival to take the next fruit.
Each object stays up for only a second and a half, so keep your finger ready over the button.

How a match works

Open the game on your device and press play.
Get matched with someone straight away, or send a friend your private room link and wait for them to join.
Both of you play at the same time; the server keeps the two screens in step. A match takes about a minute.
Lost your connection? Come back within a minute and the match carries on where it stopped.

Can I play Fruit Slash online with a friend?

Yes. Open Fruit Slash, choose to play a friend and send them the private room link, they open it on their own phone or computer and the match starts when you are both ready. You can also invite a player by username, or take a quick match against whoever is waiting.

Is Fruit Slash free, and do I need an account?

It is free, with no download and no account needed: press play and you join as a guest. Create an account later if you want to keep your match history and earn a rating on the leaderboard.

Is it fair if my connection is slower?

Every swing is stamped when the server receives it, and the first swing to arrive takes the fruit. A normal connection is plenty; a very slow one can lose close races.
